Christmas Break in Washington, D.C.

First stop on our Christmas Holiday break (well really more like New Year’s as we’re starting our adventure on New Year’s Eve.)

We arrived in Washington, DC and my grandma forgot to tell me that it’s COLD here!  I’m used to going to warm places, not freezing COLD places.  Wow, was I surprised.

My many moods today... mostly I was just COLD.
My many moods today… mostly I was just COLD. Waiting for the hotel shuttle.

We had a super early flight today.  We left Indianapolis at 5:00am, which means I’ve been up since 3:00am. So, yea, you get the idea.  She swears we’re going to have a blast.  Right now we’re just going to our hotel, The Westin Dulles Airport, get room service and go back to sleep.  Fun will have to wait for later today.

Sleeeepy... eating my waffles and watching television.

Lots more to come soon.  Going to catch some ZzZz’s.

Notes from the Gma:  We flew United Airlines from Indianapolis to Washington Dulles Airport for only $109 per ticket (one way) and booked only 7 days in advance.  I just used flexible search dates via Kayak and picked the best time available at the best price.  There were other cheaper flights, but they all arrived late at night and we had plans for the evening.  Trust me, we will not be choosing a 5:00am flight ever again, it was like having jet lag without even entering a different time zone.  Washington, D.C. is the first stop on a 3 city trip… we will be heading to New York City then on to Hollywood, Florida before wrapping up our trip on January 11.
